This night is a night of vigil for the Lord. We start by lighting the First Fire of Easter in the churchyard and then move into the dark church carrying the Easter Candle. Then we listen to a series of readings and psalms re-telling the story of salvation from darkness into light. We renew our Baptismal Promises and then we celebrate the First Mass of Easter.
