Welcome to our new Archdeacon.The Bishop of Chelmsford has announced that the new Archdeacon of Southend will be the Revd Dr Sue Lucas.
Bishop Guli said:
“I am delighted that Sue has agreed to serve as the new Archdeacon of Southend. She is, of course, well known to many of us in Chelmsford Diocese and will bring great experience and wisdom from local parish ministry and from her role as Area Dean. The churches and schools of the Southend Archdeaconry will benefit greatly from Sue’s appointment and I am very much looking forward to welcoming her onto the Bishop’s Leadership Team.”

Wonderful to see the church with so many people, I wish I could be there if I was not feeling so unwell but this has cheered me up. May the Lord bless us all. Amen.
Lovely to be back at the Diocese of Chelmsford Retreat House in Pleshey with 16 Parishioners for a Looking Towards Advent Quiet Day: Advent of Christ at the End Times and at Christmas.
Time and space to pray, think, enjoy a silent walk through the beautiful Essex Countryside and reflect quietly before the rush of all that is modern Christmas.
